Karara Iron Ore Project
The Karara Iron Ore Project consisted of the development of port, rail and mine site facilities for the export of magnetite and hematite products mined for the Karara iron ore deposits. T6 Rail was contracted by MVM Rail and Macmahon Rail to undertake the construction of 85 km of spur line connecting at the WestNet Rail mainline at Tilley, which is about three kilometres north of Morawa. A crossing loop, siding and a balloon loop were also constructed at the Karara mine site. T6 Rail initially employed a crew of 20 men which increased to 60 men for the completion of these works Supplied – Sleeper laying Crews, Rail Laying & Clip-up Crews, De-stressing Crews, Correction Crews, Welding Crews, Octopus Operators and Loader Operators
